    A second banknote printing facility run by the Bank of Mexico opened on November 7, almost 50 years after the first facility began operations. The central bank started the project in 2010 following signs the country’s existing facility was reaching production capacity.     The Bank of Burundi is issuing new banknotes in a bid to increase the security and durability of the currency, said the governor. Jean Ciza said in a statement on May 2 that the Burundian franc would see new 500, 2,000, 5,000 and 10,000 notes.
